Robert L. Benson
Mr. Benson is the firm’s Chairman, bringing over 25 years of domestic and international experience as a leader in the executive search industry and board consulting.
He began his career at Spencer Stuart in Stamford, Connecticut in 1982, progressing through a series of office, practice and firm-wide management roles. Those roles included Managing Director of the New York Office, Northeast Region and the Eastern Region. Bob moved to Europe in 1994 as Executive Vice President International to oversee a number of multi-national marketing initiatives, while functioning as Co-Leader of the Global Industrial Practice. He also led offices in Belgium, Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe. During this time he served on the Spencer Stuart's Management Committee, Board of Directors and as Chairperson of the Partner Finance Committee.
In 2004, he was named the Chairman of Slayton Search Partners, leading the firm through an impressive growth pattern over the following years. In 2007, he oversaw Slayton’s acquisition of Boardroom Consultants and became the Chairman of both firms.
In 2008, Bob was recognized by BusinessWeek as one of “The 50 Most Influential Headhunters.” In 1999, Bob was highlighted in Nancy Garrison-Jenn's book The "Global 200" Executive Recruiters. That same year he founded and served as President of Robert L. Benson & Associates, where he provided cross-cultural business improvement, executive selection and executive coaching services. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Quinnipiac University. |
